How we work

A process with no surprises

Great buildings aren’t rushed into — they’re planned into existence. Here is the path every Skylon project follows.

Five stages

From first call to final key

  1. Stage 01

    Consultation

We start by listening. A conversation about your building, your ambitions and your constraints — followed by a site visit where useful. You’ll get straight answers about feasibility, budget ranges and realistic timelines before anything is committed to paper.

  2. Stage 02

    Design & Feasibility

Working with your architect — or through our design & build route — we develop the scheme technically: structure, services, joinery and finishes coordinated on one drawing set, so problems are solved on paper, where they are cheap.

  3. Stage 03

    Detailed Costing & Programme

You receive an itemised proposal in plain English: costs, programme, assumptions and exclusions clearly stated. No allowances hidden in small print — a number you can plan a life or a business around.

  4. Stage 04

    Construction & Craftsmanship

Our site teams take over — with joinery, spraying and electrical specialists from the Skylon Group working to one standard. You get a single director-level contact, scheduled progress updates and a site kept clean enough to walk in good shoes.

  5. Stage 05

    Completion & Aftercare

Handover means a finished building, complete documentation and certification — and a team that still answers the phone afterwards. We snag before you do, and we stand behind the work long after the scaffold comes down.

What you can expect

Throughout every stage

  • One point of contact. A director who knows your project by heart — not a call centre.
  • Weekly clarity. Progress, decisions needed and look-ahead — in writing, every week.
  • Cost discipline. Changes priced before they happen, never discovered on an invoice.
  • Respect for the place. Clean sites, considerate hours, neighbours kept onside.

The client experience

You’ll always know where you stand

Most construction stress isn’t caused by problems — it’s caused by silence. We removed the silence.

A written report, every fortnight

Progress photos, programme against plan, decisions needed and cost status — in writing, every two weeks, whether the news is good or awkward.

One director-level contact

You deal with someone who can make decisions — the same person from tender to handover, reachable when it matters.

Decisions before deadlines

Choices are presented with options and prices while there’s still time to think — never as a fait accompli on an invoice.

An open site

Visit whenever you like — announced or not. A site you can walk through in good shoes is the standard we hold ourselves to.
