Prime Sash Windows. Joinery Core. Skylon Joinery. They represent different parts of what we do, but inside the workshop, the lines between them are much less important. Prime Sash Windows represents the timber windows and doors we manufacture. Skylon Joinery is where our craftsmanship and manufacturing experience began. And Joinery Core grew from that same workshop, technology created to solve the real production challenges our team encountered every day. Different parts of the business, perhaps.
But the same people, the same knowledge and the same workshop behind them.
Technology still needs hands
Our workshop looks very different today from the one we started with. There is more machinery. More automation. More digital information moving through production. Our latest CNC technology can manufacture components with remarkable precision, while Joinery Core helps us manage the information surrounding each project, from production stages and materials to stock and workflow. But eventually, someone still has to understand the timber in front of them. Someone has to assemble the components, check the joints, prepare the finish, inspect the details and decide whether something is good enough to leave the workshop.
Technology can create consistency. Experience knows what good looks like.
Knowledge doesn't live in a machine
One of the most valuable things inside any workshop is difficult to photograph. Experience.

When you work with Skylon, you're not simply buying something manufactured in a workshop. Behind it is a team that understands design, manufacturing, materials, technology and, importantly, how all of those things need to work together. The names on the shirts might be different.
